I have decided that today is random product endorsement day.
On the menu for this is: Hot Topic's Glow in the Dark sparkly nail polish.
I chose the light blue. When I first put it on I wasn't sure what I would think of it, because it's such a light color. Then I put Krackle over it, which I put on too thick so it didn't have deep crackles and the glow in the dark didn't show up much. However, when I put it on all alone and used it I was hooked. I haven't used any other nail polish for... almost 2 weeks now, and anyone who knows me knows that's a long time. I usually change polish 2-3 times a week. Each time I take it off I want to put it back on. Is it because the blue is cool or the sparkles are awesome. Not so much. Not that they aren't cool and awesome, but the real awesome is going to bed and staring at your nails until you fall asleep, because you see five points of glowing light coming from them.
I even make wifey look, every night, because it's so cool. I've had glow in the dark things before, but it's never been this long lasting and easy to see. I sleep during the day, so I get early morning light on them and then go to bed. Of course, when I wake up they're not glowing anymore, but for at least 15-20 minutes they're good. <3 Even when the paint starts to chip, you feel like your whole nail is glowing at night. Pretty cool.

Sexual Orientation
I have come to think on sexual orientation again. Largely due to the fact that it is still very common to make fun of normal, straight people by calling them "lesbo" or "gay" or "fag". I'm not sure that trend will ever go away, but I think we could do more to discourage people from saying such things.
However, that's not what I wanted to write about. I'm not going to rant about the equality rights or anything like that, I want to ponder about actual orientation. How it gets discovered, what "normal" people do about their "odd" or "wrong" urges.
See, I think it's pretty normal for most people, most children, to reach a point where they're curious. Some people say this is a "bi-curious" phase, but I don't really think that's true. I think *most* if not *all* people wonder about it. What it would be like, or why people do it. Not in a hateful way, although I also think most people won't admit to this idea. I think that most children are curious, and because the way most societies work, or appear to work, they don't think it's alright to explore these feelings, or idea's.
Now I'm not one for people having sex before they're ready, or even for them to have it without careful consideration and appropriate protection. I do think though, that people fear being gay and therefore label it as bad or refuse to admit they are interested in the idea. I think many people are bi by nature, not necessarily gay or straight. We, as adults, make choices. We make decisions on what paths we want to tread and where we want to go. Sometimes we make these decisions because we haven't thought about all angles to our situations. Sometimes we make these decisions because we feel we have to.
It would really be nice though, if we lived in a society where it was alright to choose to explore these feelings or ideas without actually putting labels or misinformed animosity to them. If I had thought about things earlier on, I'd have realized I was bi-sexual before I was out of middle school, maybe even before that. But I was convinced I was straight, and just wanted a particular female body, which was why I was looking at them. It took falling in love with a woman to really set my mind in a tizzy. Then I hurt her terribly in the early days, because I told her I'd eventually marry a man and have kids. It's a miracle she stuck with me, and it's a miracle I didn't lose the best thing that had ever happened to me.

Dreams
Dreams are strange things. A person has them once a night, once a week, once a month, but each person has them. And they're always either bizarre or terrible or funny. Very few dreams don't pull any emotion from us at all. Which is interesting. Most people speculate that dreams are our subconscious trying to figure things out, or trying to work through things that have happened to us. If that were true, then what the hell is my mind trying to work out when I have dreams where I'm playing a game?
I think there's such a thing as a "junk dream". That's a dream that is just nonsense, something that we look at and say, "Huh?" and walk away. However I also think there are dreams that are very important to us, dreams that are so real, so valid to our lives that we go over them at length and remember them again and again, trying to pick out each detail so we don't forget them.
I haven't had any dreams like this lately, but I've been thinking all day about them. Maybe I'll have some good dreams tonight.

Personal Opinion
Each person has their own personal opinions. This is good because as a people, if we were all the same, then life wouldn't be interesting. It wouldn't be worth talking to other people because we'd all say the same thing. I think that people don't realize how important it is for every person to be different from the next. There are so many groups of people who want "everyone to be the same" or "everyone to believe the same thing". Why would we have been created differently if we were to be the same?
This is something that has bothered me about so many different groups or organizations. We're no good as a society if we are the same. The same color, the same creed, the same morals, no way! That's not okay! We have to have strife, or arguments, or debates, because we're social creatures, and can you imagine a conversation between two people who are the same?
"Hey Joe, I like that color of red."
"Hey Joy, I like that color of red too. It's bright."
"Yeah, it's bright Joe, a nice bright red."
"Yup. Bright red."
Need I say more?
So personal opinion is important, and I think that people who say that another person's opinion doesn't matter is not realizing that their own opinion only matters because that person has an opinion. Ever think about it like that?

Curiosities
Blogs. Something I've been both interested and terrified of. I mean, blogs are you, right? Who you are, your unedited feelings, your personal ideas. However, blogs have evolved since the beginning of blogs, and now they're ways for people to debate, catch up with others, hide from the world, make money, all kinds of things. Blogs are what you make them. So for now, I'm going to have a blog that is me. All the little curiosities that are me, all the things that I think, all the things that I have wanted to talk about, but haven't.
Most people who know me know that I'm pretty free about what I say, and not one to back down on something I believe in. That being said I like to know what other people think, and how they perceive the world. I suck at remembering what people say though, there are times when I wish I could take a tape recorder around with me so I could record conversations I've had, just so I could go back and listen to them again. I like conversations, I like talking with people. Which is interesting because I don't really like having people around me too much. So here I can have conversations with people and they'll be "recorded" for future perusal. I like that.
So here we go. Day one of blogging. Let's see what we can do with it.
